No Fracking Way!

Here's what I did with my Sunday! I went to Byron Bay's anti-Coal Seam Gas (CSG) rally. We marched at the same time as several other Australian cities. Coal Seam Gas is pretty silly really- it poisons water, messes with soil, and the companies can come onto your land to put in wells. Here's what's been happening in the US, and here's what's been happening in Australia.

Enjoy the video, I couldn't spot myself but the whole group was there!

  1. You are just a super woman! Reading your blog makes me so proud to be your friend. Seriously. What a fantastic experience you are having.
I had an intense convo with my host mom about how the EU regulations have affected small farms here. I had no idea how tough it is. The EU both helps and hurts farms in Spain. Some stuff I definitely need to read up on.
We went to Granada and Cordoba this weekend, and I thought of you lots. I've constantly wanted to use quesado, but have to remember it doesn't make sense to Spaniards. Also, in Cordoba, there was a family feeding a huge flock of pigeons and I thought of you. SOOOO CREEEPY. I'll send you a pic sometime. ¡Besos, chica!

  2. Awwww thanks Bethcita! Glad I've inspired you a bit :) I've been doing surprisingly well with the bird here, I've only had a few minor freakouts, mostly involving pigeons, seagulls, and these evil ibis birds that hang out near the beach and are far too used to people! Hope your are mejorandoing your espanol! You and Hannah will have to chat when you get back!
